Read our statement about the New York Times discontinuing the ability of apps to download .puz files.
The Puzzazz app offers the only full-fidelity solving experience for the New York Times puzzles on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, with puzzles that match the print edition in style and formatting, and with any tricks and unusual features preserved. And, of course, only Puzzazz offers our delightful solving experience and our exclusive, award-winning TouchWrite™ handwriting recognition technology, which makes solving more enjoyable on small screens. To solve, simply open the New York Times title in the Puzzazz app on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, enter your nytimes.com membership information, and your puzzles will be ready to solve. When new daily puzzles are released, they will appear in the table of contents automatically. The New York Times publishes a new crossword every day and the puzzles increase in difficulty throughout the week. Monday puzzles are the easiest and Saturday puzzles are the hardest with a higher percentage of tricky clues (Sunday puzzles are larger but about the same difficulty level as Wednesday or Thursday). New NYT crosswords are released at 10PM Eastern time on weekdays and 6PM Eastern time on weekends, and they are available for solving in the Puzzazz app for iOS immediately. The New York Times and NYT are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of The New York Times Company. No endorsement or relationship is expressed or implied.
